To better serve underserved communities, the Task Force is launching a pop-up blind skills program designed to bring vital training and resources directly to rural areas. This initiative will offer adaptive technology instruction, job-readiness workshops, and hands-on vision rehabilitation training in regions currently lacking these services.
Right now, many parts of Georgia have no access to COMS or VRT training for working-age adults outside of Veterans Affairs programs. Our mission is twofold: to empower blind and low-vision Georgians with the skills and opportunities needed for independence and employment, and to strengthen the field of vision rehabilitation by creating sustainable opportunities that attract and retain skilled professionals.
